Two layers of protection
- Your statutory rights for defective products, which apply automatically for two years from delivery and can’t be reduced.
- Any additional warranty Blink chooses to offer, which can only add to those rights.
If your product is defective
A product is defective if, at delivery, it doesn’t match what was agreed or lacks characteristics it should objectively have. That includes not matching what’s stated on its packaging, label, manual, website or advertising, or not delivering the benefits you can reasonably expect (Law No. 6502, Art. 8).
You can choose one of these remedies, and the seller must provide the one you choose (Art. 11):
- withdraw from the contract, returning the product, and get your money back;
- keep the product and get a price reduction in proportion to the defect;
- have it repaired free of charge, with all costs paid by the seller, unless that would be excessively costly;
- have it replaced with a non-defective one, where possible.
A repair or replacement must be completed within 30 working days of your request, or within the regulation’s maximum repair time for goods on its list. Otherwise, you can choose another remedy. If repair or replacement would be disproportionately difficult for the seller, you can withdraw from the contract or ask for a price reduction.
A defect that appears within six months of delivery is presumed to have existed at delivery: the seller has to prove otherwise (Art. 10). These rights last two years from delivery, even if the defect shows up later. There’s no time limit if a defect was concealed through gross fault or fraud (Art. 12).
Statutory warranty
Warranty certificate: Blink One comes with a warranty certificate, issued electronically on delivery, with a warranty period of 2 years from delivery. Where a product must be sold with a warranty certificate, the warranty period is at least two years from delivery (Art. 56).
If you chose repair and the product fails again during the warranty period, the maximum repair time is exceeded, or it turns out it can’t be repaired, you can choose one of the other remedies, and the seller can’t refuse (Art. 56(3)).
How to make a claim
Create a repair request under Account → Service and Repairs, or email support. Once we’ve reviewed it, we email you a free shipping code; send the switched-off device with it to the carrier’s Kartal Kurfalı branch in Istanbul. We inspect it, repair or replace it, and send it back to you, and you can follow every step in your account.
If you can’t use your account, write to support@wearblink.net with your order number, a description of the fault and, if you can, a photo or video. We’ll tell you how to send the product. The costs of exercising your rights for a defective product, including sending it, are paid by the seller (Art. 11(6)).
Repairs and spare parts after the warranty
Manufacturers and importers must provide maintenance and repair, including spare parts, for the product’s service life set by the Ministry of Trade (Art. 58). For Blink One: Blink provides repair and spare parts for at least 5 years after Blink One stops being sold, or for any longer period the Ministry sets for this product group.
Blink’s additional warranty
Blink doesn’t currently offer a commercial warranty beyond the statutory warranty.
If Blink offers an additional warranty, it will state that your statutory rights are unaffected, its conditions, its duration, and the warrantor’s name and contact details. You won’t be charged for using it (Art. 57).
What a warranty doesn’t cover
Faults caused by using the product contrary to its user manual, accidental damage, or repairs by anyone other than Blink or an authorised service aren’t covered by the warranty. Whether a fault falls into one of these categories must be assessed fairly and explained to you, and you can challenge that assessment through the routes in the Distance Sales Agreement. This doesn’t affect your rights for defects that existed at delivery.
If you live outside Türkiye
The legal guarantee of your country also applies. In the EU, for example, the seller is liable for lack of conformity for at least two years from delivery.
